Parrikar’s statement meant to hide Indian war crimes in IOK: Gilani
Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that if world comes to know about the real and cruel face of Indian army in Kashmir, India will have to face embarrassment at the international level, and will lose the mantra of a big democratic country in the world.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar maintained that the Kashmiris were fully aware of the cruelties of the Indian army in the territory. He slammed Indian Defence Minister Manohar ParrikAr for criticizing Pakistan Army saying that India through such propaganda wanted to hide its war crimes in Kashmir.

The veteran leader said, “From the last 68 years, Kashmiris are not only watching the criminal attitude but they are the worst victims of their acts and this army has killed tens of thousands innocent Kashmiris, raped thousands of their daughters and sisters and destroyed their houses and property worth billions of rupees,” according to his spokesman Ayaz Akbar.

The spokesman said that the accusations of Parrikar were based on guesses and hypotheses and “if world comes to know about the real and cruel face of army in Kashmir, India will have to face embarrassment on the international forums and it will lose the mantra of a big democratic country in the world.”

Ayaz Akbar said that the freedom struggle of Kashmiris was an indigenous movement and they were struggling for their birth and basic right of self-determination. “We have no direct relationship with the Pakistan army but what the Indian army is doing in occupied Kashmir to suppress our just and genuine demands, we are watching that with our own eyes,” he added.

The spokesman said that the argument of Manohar Parrikar was just a poetic imagination, and he could not present any solid proof in support of his argument. “It is just a negative propaganda through which New Delhi wants to hide its war crimes and human rights violations in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.

The spokesman said that Kashmiris knew that the Pakistan army had been a big supporter of their right to self determination and they had never opposed the holding of referendum in Jammu and Kashmir.

“There is no record of killing of any Kashmiri by the Pakistan army and they have always worked to protect the modesty of the Kashmiri daughters and sisters,” he added.

Sepoy Lance Naik Govind Singh of 9 Para regiment was critically injured when the infiltrators fired upon Army's search party after being challenged at forward area in Balnoie of KG sector.
An army commando and a militant were killed in an ongoing gunfight at Krishna Ghati sector of Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
Official sources told IndiaToday.in that Sepoy Lance Naik Govind Singh of 9 Para regiment was critically injured when the infiltrators fired upon Army's search party after being challenged at forward area in Balnoie of KG sector.
Singh, who was hit on the chest, was immediately evacuated to nearby medical institute from where he was airlifted to military hospital Udhampur. However, Singh was declared brought dead on arrival by the doctors, they said.

Singh, a resident of Uttranchal, was part of army party carrying out a search operation near the LoC when the incident occurred, they said.
The searches were launched by the army's 1st Mahar and 9 PARA near Tiba and Tilla posts following inputs about the information that militants were planning to infiltrate in this part of Kashmir via them, they said.

Army's Udhampur based senior defence spokesperson SD Goswami, while confirming the death of a soldier, told that the army unit manning the fence foiled the infiltration attempt in the area.

The official said that the soldiers engaged the group of infiltrators in an encounter.

"So far a militant has been killed in the ongoing gunfight", the official said.
